Just over 3 months after the launch of OnePlus 2 back in july,we’re getting yet another OnePlus model and this time it’s the OnePlus X.The OnePlus X, the Chinese company’s third smartphone, was finally unveiled on Thursday at simultaneous events in New Delhi and Beijing, among other cities.The Chinese Company also announced its plan’s to start manufacturing in India and consider it as one of the most important overseas market.
The OnePlus X has been launched in two versions – an Onyx variant and a limited-edition Ceramic variant which cost around Rs 22,999.The Onyx version is priced Rs 16,999 and will be available through an invite only flash sale on Amazon.in on November 5 whereas the Ceramic version will cost Rs 22,999 but will be a limited edition with just 10,000 units becoming available later.
OnePlus India general manager Vikas Agarwal said:
We are still following our one flagship device per year policy. The OnePlus X targets a different segment altogether. We did not want to reveal our plans of launching the X version when the OnePlus 2 launched. However, OnePlus X was always in our agenda. And it is not a run-off-the-mill product that we have launched in haste.
Now talking about the specifications,the OnePlus X certainly doesn’t dissapoint and is a low priced phone with features comparable to high end phone’s. The OnePlus X runs on OxygenOS based on Android 5.1.1 lollipop and features a 5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) Amoled display.It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC coupled with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM.
It also features a hardware Alert Slider, and capacitive keys. The smartphone has a metal frame, and dual speaker grilles on the bottom panel.
OnePlus X comes with a 16Gb internal memory which is expandable upto 128Gb. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash and a f/2.2 aperture, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a f/2.4 aperture, and a non-removable 2525mAh battery. Connectivity options include support for Indian 4G LTE bands, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, FM radio, and Micro-USB.
OnePlus X cases will also be made available in Rosewood, Black Apricot, Bamboo, Karbon, and Sandstone options.
